Subject: Board Rentals
Just wanted to say thanks to the staff, particularly the nice
lady who was manning the store on Saturday, Aug 16th. I'm a
beginner, my boyfriend has over 15 years of windsurfing experience.
we come down to Hood River regularly to windsurf. We came in
to rent a board for 2 days, and the lady working in the shop
at that little place where all the little shacks are from the
various companies (I always forget if its the marina or the
event site) spent lots of time making certain that she had
the RIGHT board for me to rent. This is in contrast with some
of the other places we went to, where the person either didn't
know what they were talking about, or who were so avid to rent
ANY board that they tried to pressure me into taking some inappropriate
gear.
Imagine our suprise when one place actually tried to rent me
a small-ish (in volume) Formula Board, saying that it would be
more stable for a beginner because of its width! The lady who
helped us at your store, after I explained in detail my sailing
experience and what I'd been sailing on, determined that the
175 liter Mambo (Hi-Fly) was the appropriate beginner board that
would help me progress in skill. She was right! It was way more
fun than the almost 300 liter picnic tables I'd been practicing
on!
Thanks so much for the great service, knowledge, and experience,
and I'll certainly be back to rent equipment from you again!
